Healthy Hearts To Remain Closed for January

Healthy Hearts Covid-19 Closure Statement

January 6th 2022

To our Valued Members,

On Wednesday January 5th, 2022, Ontario moved into a modified step two of the Roadmap to Reopen due to recent trends that show an increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations. Restrictions have increased causing closures of gyms and other facilities. Previously we sought clarification from Huron Perth Public Health and remained operational as a health care facility.

With the current circumstances with respect to Omicron, we have decided to take the action to pause our in-person operations for the month of January. This step was not taken easily as we see Healthy Hearts as an essential service for the community. Reasons for the pause include the high transmissibility of the Omicron variant, provincial data that places indoor fitness classes as high risk for out breaks, waning immunity after two vaccines, and mounting evidence that COVID-19 is airborne.

With the increase in transmissibility of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 we cannot in good faith place our members at increased risk by maintaining our in-person operations.

We hope to reopen our in-person operations for the month of February. This decision will be communicated to you on January 24th via our website.

In the meantime, we encourage all members to continue to follow public health precautions and ensure they receive all COVID-19 vaccinations you are eligible for (third booster if eligible, first or second doses if you have not already).
